Barstow Police Activity League’s Christmas Cops & Kids Comedy Show Fundraiser Announced

Barstow, CA – In the spirit of giving, the Barstow Police Activities League is thrilled to announce the upcoming annual Christmas Cops & Kids Fundraiser, a heartwarming event aimed at ensuring no child in the Barstow area goes without receiving a toy during the holiday season. This cherished fundraiser, initially conceived by the late Tim Heiden, has grown from a small neighborhood toy giveaway into a city-wide initiative that brings joy to children and families throughout the greater Barstow area.

Tim Heiden, a beloved member of the community, came up with the idea for the Christmas Cops & Kids program with a simple yet powerful vision: to guarantee that every child in the Barstow area experiences the joy of receiving a toy at Christmas. What started as a humble gesture has blossomed into a remarkable tradition, with nearly $50,000 worth of toys being distributed annually in neighborhoods across Barstow.

This year, the Barstow PAL is excited to host a special Comedy & Magic Show as part of the Christmas Cops & Kids Fundraiser. The event will take place at the Barstow Community College on Saturday, August 5th at 6pm. The event is open to ages 13 and older. Headlining the show are renowned entertainers Tim Smallwood and Doug Williams, promising an evening of laughter, wonder, and joy.

“We are thrilled to organize this year’s Comedy & Magic Show for the Christmas Cops & Kids Fundraiser,” said Jeff Eason, Board Vice President and Reserve Officer at the Barstow Police Department. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together and support a cause that has brought smiles to countless children over the years. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the late Tim Heiden for his vision, and we are committed to carrying forward his legacy.”

The Comedy & Magic Show promises to be an unforgettable evening, filled with laughter, mind-boggling illusions, and heartwarming moments. Attendees can expect a show that appeals to all ages, as both Tim Smallwood and Doug Williams are seasoned entertainers known for their ability to captivate audiences.

We know not everyone can attend the event, but there are other ways for individuals to contribute and make a difference. Barstow PAL encourages those who cannot attend to consider sponsoring the event or purchasing tickets for a local single Army or Marine service member. These generous acts will not only provide deserving service members with an opportunity to enjoy the show but also allow the fundraiser to continue its mission of spreading holiday cheer to children in need.

All funds raised through sponsorships, ticket sales, and generous donations will go towards purchasing toys and organizing the distribution efforts. The Barstow PAL would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the generous corporate sponsors whose support makes the Christmas Cops & Kids Fundraiser possible. Their commitment to our community and dedication to spreading holiday cheer has made a significant impact on the success of this event. We express our deepest gratitude to Chaparral Physical Therapy, A to Z Lock & Security, Mojave Auto Group, and Guatam Medical & Wellness for their unwavering support and belief in our mission. Their contributions not only help us provide toys to children in need but also demonstrate their commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of local families. We are truly grateful for their partnership and the invaluable support they provide year after year.

As the holiday season approaches, let us join hands and embrace the spirit of giving. Together, we can honor Tim Heiden’s legacy and make a lasting impact on the lives of children in the Barstow community. Join the Barstow Police Department and the community at the Christmas Cops & Kids Fundraiser Comedy & Magic Show and help bring joy and happiness to children during the most wonderful time of the year.
